XBox 360 Slim vs. PS3

I'm thinking about getting a game console other than my Asus G72 gamer laptop and I'm stuck on a decision. I'm not entirely sure that I'll be getting one, this is just for my information.

Which game console would be better? The new XBox 360 Slim or a PS3?

I understand that to go online on the XBox you need to pay, but for PS3 it's free.

I also heard something about the graphics being better on the PS3.

Anyway... for you people that have one of these game consoles:

idk about the slim.. but i have an xbox, yes you have to pay, but its pretty cheap. and once you have alot of friends it gets pretty fun, i have halo 3, ODST, gta 4, midnight club: LA. i never really get bored when im on the xbox.

depends on what you're lookin for rom, if you're not willing to pay for online, go with PS3, if you're looking for Halo series go with xbox, if you want to play the resistance games go with ps3, also pricing, i believe the ps3 slim is cheaper than a 360 at 299.99 and it has an 8 GB hard drive, and believe me, that'll get you a lot of games..btw i voted ps3 since i one..consoles the only place i have to hate microsoft for..that and windows vista :P

ps3 is better flat out...graphics are better i have both and i can put 2 hd tv's next to each other with each and its a easy to tell..free online..better made machine theres nor ring of death crap the ps3's are next to indestructible trust me i own both and i can easily say ps3 wins

I also found out that the new xBox Slim doesn't have a blu-ray player like the PS3 does.

Yes, the PS3 comes with a built in blu-ray which is why it was so expensive when it first came out, so the PS3 along with great graphics on the games, has higher quality movie play back than you're ordinary DVD like xbox XD

OK, PS3 may have better graphics, but ur gonna need a 1080p hd tv and HDMi cable to actually see it, 360 has almost as good graphics, but runs better.
No one likes the playstation controller lay out.
PS3 disks are blue ray to fit in the "better" graphics, but it takes so much room that you have to install part of the game onto the harddrive for actual good performance
Free online play, but its connected to ur own internet connection, so if its crappy (ie: below 7 mg/s) then ur screwed and cant play online, 360 pays, but u can get a full year subscription on ebay for 30 bucks, and its connected to microsofts private server which is blazing fast

I don't see the difference. unless the xBox has some miracle attached to it that gives you awesome internet connection.

Instead of buying th wi-fi to connect to xbox's private server, its built in. The whole reason u pay for live is because ur using microsofts private internet made just for xbox

ps3= motion sensing controller
rechargeable controller
better graphics is still better it doesn't matter under what conditions
pricing isn't that big of a gap anymore
the amount you put onto your hard drive isnt even noticeable
internet connection speed is very rarely a problem

trust me there is nothing the 360 has that the ps3 does not but the ps3 has stuff the 360 doesn't its that simple

I'm still not a big difference here. I'm failing to see how the xBox has better connection to the internet if both would be using my home connection. Even if the xBox connects to some super-server microsoft has, doesn't my home connection still matter?

sorry default but just beiber is an ignorant f** in my opinon, and the controller on the PS3 doesnt MAKE you use or not use the motion sensor choose it lets you choose, some games allow you to choose the motion sensor, other make you use it at a small part in the game, yes you can connect it and use it like the original PS2 controller, but thats if it needs to be charged, as far as pricing is concerned, the PS3 slim is about 300 dollars plus sales tax, your original PS3's are in that same price range now, as much as an xbox, also xbox has halo, and gears of war yes, but ps3 has resistance, and kill zone, every console has its own series of select games, even the wii, so i dont see why thats an issue, i think rom is mainly looking at how good of an internet connection you get online, and quality, the PS3 does not have an Xclamp that can over heat bend and cause the red ring of death, PS3 is more durable and longer lasting
