Ok, so I've been trying to set up a gaming tower for my personal moniter. I set up a rig with this stuff:

CPU: AMD Athlon™II X4 635 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

HDD: 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)

MOTHERBOARD: Asus M4A78L-M AMD 760G Chipset DDR2/1066 mATX w/ Integrated ATI Radeon HD3000 Video, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, USB2.0, SATA RAID, 1 Gen2 PCIe, 1 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI

MEMORY: 2GB (1GBx2) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory

SOUND: Creative Labs SB Audigy SE

VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB 16X PCI Express


Mind you, I want to be able to run newer games (mw2, etc) with this rig. Any suggestions on how this would run? Or if I need something better? Thanks.

on the video card. it should run them, on medium/high settings, but if u have the money, get a GTX 250-285

RAM could be better. Go for DDR3, it's faster.

Thanks for the input. Swapped the 9800 for the 250 and made the ram update. Do you need the Physx card for it to run well?

It would be great if you can have more RAM. I have 6GB on my laptop and it runs everything smoothly. If you wanna see all the specs, go on my xfire profile and check it out.

lol, it should run fine maxim, although the suggestions ur getting will even increase the sexiness of gameplay, more RAM the better
