Rendering

Ok, I have an image I want to render.. But the only part I need to render, is the person who originally rendered it's signature..
So I tried just rendering around the part where he had his name.. and it took off everything..
I don't wanna hafta render the whole picture.. Any help?

post it here. i don't understand plain english. lol

If ya just want the persons name out use a black brush and brush over it.

Well it pulls up in GIMP transparent. .Will that still work?
