Just some suggestions from an amateur:

-Since Ezio's clothing is mostly white and red, I would not use green and yellow as the background because they clash.
-When I make the character jump out of the signature, I make sure to keep all the work within my canvas. When you made the extra flares and things, you went out of bounds, so it cut them off at the edge. Keep everything within the canvas.
-I know GIMP is terrible when it comes to resizing, but if you do resize, always contain proportions (it should be a chain link that shows up when on the resizing tool). That way the render (in this case, Ezio) doesn't look like he's been dieting and is now very thin.

I hope you take these suggestions in a positive way. I only want to help, not criticize. Smile
