| So we all know what July 4th means! It is the day we gained independance from Great Britain. July 4th 1776, when our forefathers gathered in Independance Hall, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They gathered there knowing what they were doing was high treason against the British Government, one by one, they all signed their names, John Hanncock's being the largest so his would noticed first, Thomas Jefferson, the genius who wrote the declaration, was the last to sign it, and when all was said and done, 56 people had signed the declaration of independance, and it was sent off to King George III. When midnight rolls around tonight CST it will be the United States of America's 243rd birthday. When you wake up on the morning of the 4th, remember what those 56 people signed, remember what they stood for. The United States is the worlds most indepent nation. Take a moment and realize that West Europe has more restrictions in certain areas of life than we do, that East Europe is still feeling the hardships from life under the soviet union, the Middle East is controlled by hostile and malicious dictators, Asia is still mainly an underdeveloped region. Remember that the United States is the strongest, most industrialized nation. So when we all wake up in the morning or afternoon on the 4th, let us all wish happy 243rd birthday to this wonderful nation of ours and remember what it stands for | |
