| Ok, so let's say i wanted to completely upgrade my computer(s), i need someone to answer my questions:
1.) Will all new components work in any case?
2.) is it more cost effective to buy a new computer altogether or get all new everything put in a case?
3.) If it's best to buy all new components which are the best components that work fast and go great with each other (ie: which processor goes best with the most high end mother board etc.)

| lol.. and the benifits of customizing your own, is that you can put what you want in it, and tune it to do more like what you want it to do. | |

| Manufacturers usually have a labor charge along with their parts so it might be more expensive to buy it like that. It's better to buy it all put together because you have less chance of faulty parts or poor installations. Plus, you can return it if you're in warranty and get a new one. Building it yourself, like Joe said, is cool because you can tune it and customize it any way you like, but if you don't know what you're doing, you can screw it up big time. After I sell my laptop, I'll get my dad's HP Elite and I'm going to upgrade the video graphics card and the power supply. It'll cost me about $500 with the parts I want. | |
