| So, I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I re-installed CoD. But I have a problem: When I open CoD it's extremely slow, I have like 1 FPS and I can't do anything.
Help please? | |

| There are several things that might cause that.
1) You need to upgrade the graphics card you are using. 2) You need to set compatibility mode to Windows XP. 3) The game just doesn't work on Windows 7.
Try the first two options.

| I tried the compatibility mode and it doesn't work, also I doubt I would need to change my graphics card because it worked perfectly fine on XP. And it does work on Windows 7 because I have 2 friends who can play it and have Windows 7.
Got any other idea? :/

| I meant to say update the drivers for the card. And compatibility mode should work, you're probably gonna have to fiddle with the different options to get it to work right. Also, are you running as the main administrator of the computer you're using, I know a lot of problems with games comes from that.
Another thought occurs to me, why would you "upgrade" to Windows 7? As far as playing older games on it goes it's no better off than Vista was, XP is still superior for gaming just because it doesn't hog all your resources, that's why I haven't upgraded, running windows XP for 10 years now and I've never had a thought to "upgrade" what still works wonders for me. Sure I don't get Direct X 10 or 11, but do I need them? No, I don't play games for the graphics (if that was the case I would have stopped playing Diablo 2 about 6 years ago instead of the 11 years I've been playing it for).

| Oh, alright, yeah I did update the drivers and yes I am the admin of the computer. And I totally agree with you, I shouldn't have upgraded to Windows 7. oh btw, just installed Diablo 2 and it works fine for this OS, thankfully . Edit: What the hell, it just started working fine, thanks for helping me man. I greatly appreciate it. | |
