| OK here's whats happening....
1.) There is no sound coming out of my speakers, but when I plug in my headphones, I get all the sound.
2.) All my speakers are plugged in and in the correct jacks.
3.) My speakers stopped working when my mom turned off the power strip that all my computer stuff is plugged into.
4.) I have checked every possible connection and driver. They are all fine.
What I'm thinking it is, is that my speakers are broken but I find it hard to believe that the computer speakers, my connected speakers, and my subwoofer all stopped working... But I wanna make sure that it's not any thing I can do on my computer. Before the power strip got turned off, their used to be a buzzing sound I could hear coming out of my speakers, but not anymore. Any ideas on this guys? I'll answer any question and I appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Any ways on how to test this other than unplugging and plugging in the cords violently? I opened up my tower and wiggled me sound card a little and made sure it was secure...

| it's not you're sound card, i can tell you that, if it was you're headphones wouldn't work, you should have two ports for sound, if you do have 2 have you tried using the other port? if you have one and switch you're speakers and headphones then i think it might be you're speakers | |

haha I just wanted to get this fixed so I don't know if this will help... well, for 1, i'd check to make sure that the cord is plugged in properly, 2, it might be the subwoofer only, other than that i'm not to sure, i would check to see if they work when not plugged into the sub woofer

| There is no other jack I can plug the speakers into other than the ones on the subwoofer. All cords are plugged in tight. | |

| well, unplug you're subwoofer from those jacks and plug your speakers in there, because you may have a faulty subwoofer | |

| They have different jack types. Hold on a sec... The sub woofer is the only place the speakers can plug into. Also it's not " To speakers form subwoofer", it's " To subwoofer from speakers" lol. | |

| then its either the ports on the tower that are faulty and preventing sound from getting to the subwoofer, or the subwoofer itself is faulty and not letting sound go to the speakers | |

| Hmm I'll hook my speakers up to another computer and see if they work.
Also, my hardware has a Diagnostics Test and it tested me hardware.
It passed everything except...
-Wave -MIDI -Mixer -Mixer Settings
I don't know if this has any significance but I used the test before this happened and everything passed.

| If the subwoofer is not working allong with the speakers, then there is something wrong with subwoofer. If the power source was shut off suddenly, something could be damaged inside of it. It could also have been a power surge thingy in comp ports. Does it work on diff comp? |

| yeah, if the sub woofer doesnt work on another computer, then thats you're problem, also, how was power strip turned off, unplugged, power switch flipped or the reset button pressed (if it has a reset button)?

| it may have caused you're sub to short, if you're power strip has a reset button, turn everything off and hit the the reset button and see if that helps | |

I don't know if this has any significance but I used the test before this happened and everything passed. Because of this, I think if you just did a simple reinstall of your sound drivers everything will work again, so find out what drivers you exactly need, reinstall, reboot the computer and hopefully it will work, I've had this happen to me a few times and a simple reinstall seems to work every time.
