I want to buy Assassin's Creed 2 for PC, but Ubisoft's DRM thing requires you to constantly be online in order to play. Yes, it's a single-player game, but a constant internet connection to their server and the CD is required to play. If you're in the middle of a mission and your internet connection dies (as mine does a lot) you're screwed and have to restart after reconnecting to the internet.

My question is:
If I buy the game, can I crack it in order to play it offline? I want to buy this game, not download the whole thing as a torrent, but I want to play it offline. I don't want to download it simply because my internet connection is with AT&T, and they suck...

I'm at school right now and I can't do any research because all the good sites are -- you guessed it! -- blocked...

I appreciate any help on this; information, links, etc.

But my bro downloaded ME2 and installed a crack for it so it doesnt have constantly check th internet

CoD2 is a lot of fun, but it's a bit different from CoD1. You'll get used to it though. I did.
